Cliff has owned his business for several decades. He is tired, and he needs hip surgery. But he is his most reliable employee. As much as he would like to grow his business again, he feels overwhelmed by all the new technology, (electronic) paperwork, laws, rules, regulations, and social changes. Add to these his demands at home: aging parents who can no longer take care of themselves, siblings who are struggling financially, and a long-term partner who wants a different commitment. It’s too much, but if he slows down or takes a break, who is going to hold everything together?

Contrary to what Cliff thought would change his circumstances, slowing down gave him exactly what he needed. It became clearer which of his employees could be cultivated, who needed to go, why his superhero alter-ego was doing more harm than good, and much more.

Watch the short video series about Cliff’s employee conflicts here.
