In this video, Nance gives a little background on the purpose of Title IX as well as three important aspects of the changes that took effect on Friday, August 14, 2020:
- Title IX is not a zero tolerance statute
- Schools must ensure the rights of the complainant and the respondent are protected
- The pending changes require greater protection from unfair, incomplete, and non-existent investigations
Nance’s “Preventing Sexual Harassment in 2020” course touches on some of the Title IX changes. A separate course is also in the works and will soon launch at 3d Ear Listeners.
