Nance L. Schick Joins Others in a Chat with MEL Magazine About Expectations

Not one to have low expectations for herself or anyone else, Nance’s first response to a question about lowering expectations was not good. “I thought, ‘No, no, no. This is not what we want or need to be teaching people’,” she says. Then she realized it was a great opportunity to share about one of her favorite books. As a result, she also got to learn from her fellow contributors:

  • Define the expectations
  • Identify what’s keeping you from meeting them
  • Make an honest effort when it matters
  • But don’t always try to meet everyone’s expectations
