Let’s plant seeds and grow people
Many come to me because they can’t find the language they need to manage specific conflicts. They want to be more persuasive, but they are afraid they will say the wrong things.
This is not unusual. We’re all a bit unbalanced when we’re confronted with something new–or something we’ve been able to avoid until now.
Here are your first seeds:
- You are surrounded by conflict.
- You are resolving it all the time.
- You don’t need to fear conflict.
- You don’t need to be embarrassed that you have it.
- You don’t need to pretend there’s a way to avoid all of it.
Together, we can resolve your instant conflicts. We’ll also build your skills, so you are stopped less often and for shorter periods of time. I’ll give you language. We can role-play difficult conversations. I’ll share a variety of tools custom-selected for you. I won’t give up on you, even when you try to give up on yourself. Let’s get started.
Mind Mastery – $600.00 per month for weekly one-hour sessions
Our brains are often playing tricks on us, making us fear each other and situations we have far more control over than we realize. I’ll work with you to identify the tricks your brain plays on you, and we will develop weekly action plans to disprove its fears, so you get out of your own way. We will focus on results, but I will also be your taskmaster. I will hold you accountable until you develop the brain patterns that have you more consistently taking the actions needed for the life you want.
Mind Management – $200.00 per hour, as needed
Even those of us who are highly-skilled in conflict resolution will still be confronted with situations that raise our emotions. These situations and high emotions make it difficult for our brains to choose wisely. When those situations occur, I can bring coach you through the emotional responses, helping you release them or at least bring them to a level where your brain can make reasoned decisions.
NOTE: Mind management calls are not for emergencies. If your emotions are so high that you fear you might harm yourself or others, please call a mental health professional or 911.
Frequently-asked questions about coaching
What’s the difference between coaching and counseling?
Counseling is typically led by a licensed psychotherapist, mental health counselor, or social worker and focuses on how you are feeling–often about the past. Coaching encourages you to feel and free your emotions, but our work together will focus on actions and accountability to create the future you want.
I am not licensed or qualified to provide psychotherapy. If you have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, or if you believe you have such a condition, I recommend that you consult a mental health counselor, regardless of whether you seek coaching.
Do you have a coach?
Yes. I am currently working with Dan Miller, author of 48 Days to the Work You Love and host of the 48 Days Podcast. I have also worked with John Allison, a very nice (but expensive) lady who often dosed off during our sessions, Landmark Worldwide, and Nancy Mindes–not to mention the various athletic coaches who have helped me reach personal bests over the years. I find that a coach makes it easier for me to exceed even my own expectations, which are often quite high.
